Your donations to Active Chicago will benefit the following programs:
The Alvin Ailey Dance Camp
The Alvin Ailey Dance Camp is a collaborative effort between Parkways, Chicago Park District, Urban Gateways and the Chicago Public Schools, bringing 90 young adults together for a six-week program. Well beyond professional dance instruction from Alvin Ailey instructors, the kids are exposed to poetry and field trips, while learning disciplinary skills and journaling on a daily basis. Parkways is committed to funding the camp on an annual basis.

A portion of the donations will be used to support this program so that it can continue to flourish.
Candidate selection is based on financial need. History has shown that many of the participating students have gone on to pursue dance training at The Ailey School, Joel Hall Dance Center and Julliard.
The Chicago Park District’s Junior Bear Tackle Football Program
This summer program is a free, tackle football league serving over 300 boys and girls, ages 11-13, at fourteen different parks throughout the city. Junior Bear teams are coached by Chicago Park District staff as well as volunteers. This program introduces young people to the game of tackle football and prepares them to play on a high school level.

A portion of the donations will be used to purchase new football equipment so that this program can continue to grow.
